New opportunities in a shifting private equity job market

The private equity recruiting market is picking up again, with foreign funds entering the DACH region and existing firms actively looking to add top talent to their teams. As firms expand their focus on portfolio management and new opportunities arise, there is a growing demand for skilled professionals, offering significant opportunities for those looking to switch careers or advance within the industry. Established PE firms are now increasing their hiring efforts alongside new market entrants, particularly seeking out top talent capable of leading teams and driving successful transactions.

Daniela Braemisch, Head of Frankfurt, notes that the private equity hiring market in Germany is gaining momentum, with many foreign funds opening branches and more expected to follow. She emphasises that firms are increasingly selective, focusing on candidates who can strategically contribute to their teams. "Low performers, especially in senior roles, can no longer be tolerated," Daniela states, reflecting the growing emphasis on high performance and expertise.

Candidates are now doing extensive due diligence on the funds they want to work for, considering factors like firm performance, team structure, and upcoming fund closings. This scrutiny goes both ways, as PE firms prioritise top talent capable of driving long-term success in a competitive environment.
