Introducing the PER Alumni Network
.
Over the last three decades, PER has built deep relationships with professionals across the private markets space.

As our network has grown, so too has the opportunity to create something enduring and valuable: a platform that brings together the individuals we’ve placed, not only to reconnect, but to enable meaningful exchange and collaboration.

The PER Alumni Network is our response to that opportunity.

A platform for community
and market insight

The Alumni Network is designed to bring together professionals from across the industry who have interacted with PER throughout their careers. Our aim is to help members extend their own networks, engage in valuable market intelligence exchanges, and strengthen their ties to the broader private markets ecosystem.

By fostering this community, we’re creating a space where insights, opportunities, and trusted connections can thrive.
Events that matter

We launched the network with a vibrant event in London last week, an evening that brought together over 100 attendees from across the private markets world. It was a fantastic start that set the tone for the future: professional, warm and highly engaged.

Going forward, we plan to host a mix of social events and curated, content-driven sessions, both in person and online. These will explore a range of specialist topics such as:

  • Fundraising trends and deal pricing
  • Compensation benchmarks
  • International market entry strategies

We also invite member input on future topics and formats. This is a network shaped by and for its members.

Meeting a real need for connection

The success of the launch points to a latent need for connection within the private markets world. Many investors begin their careers in large peer-group environments, universities, consulting firms, and investment banks, where peer interaction is built in. But once they transition into investment roles, they often become lone hires or part of very small teams, leading to a sense of professional isolation.

As careers progress and individuals rise through increasingly hierarchical structures, that sense of professional loneliness can intensify. The PER Alumni Network provides a neutral, independent space for like-minded professionals to connect, reflect, and share - whether that’s benchmarking progress, seeking advice, or simply enjoying a drink with someone who understands.
Reconnecting the industry

What sets the PER Alumni Network apart is the trust and familiarity at its core. This is a community of friends of PER, not just contacts, and that spirit is already delivering value. Members are sharing opportunities, making referrals, and opening doors to new mandates and partnerships.

It’s also a space for discreet career conversations, where informal advice and confidential guidance are readily offered.

The energy at the launch event brought this to life. Attendees from all levels and across private markets came ready to reconnect, not just with PER, but with peers from throughout their careers. Conversations flowed, experiences were shared, and many offered to support future Alumni Network activities. It was clear that this is something the industry has been missing.
What makes PER stand out

During the event, we asked attendees what makes a recruiter’s message stand out. One attendee shared their inbox with a member of our team and spoke candidly about their experience. Though they’re now happily settled in their role, they recalled how, during a previous search, our outreach stood out for being tailored, thoughtful, and genuine.

This feedback was a valuable reminder that staying true to our values, personal connection, honesty, and considered communication, continues to set us apart in a crowded space.
Looking ahead

We’re excited about the momentum behind the Alumni Network and the potential it holds for the future. With more events, deeper engagement, and an expanding community, we believe this initiative will become an invaluable part of the private markets landscape - a space for genuine connection, career insight, and long-term collaboration.

If you’re part of the PER network and want to get involved, we’d love to hear from you.
